Welcome!

Welcome to my official blog.  I can't believe that I am actually communicating in this manner, as someone who was vehemently opposed to all modern modes of communication.  But I cannot deny that it is technology that has afforded me my successful career to date, and whether or not I oppose it, it nonetheless exists.

You may be asking yourself who is Lisa Giannone?  What is the purpose of this blog and why do I care?  I am glad you asked!  I am a recently-freed indentured servant from Corporate America.  I worked as an application developer, systems analyst, and technical writer for more than 17 years and officially "burned out" in December 2010. So I left the corporate world to pursue my passion for writing.  No more chains bind me to a desk, claustrophobic cube, insane deadlines and incompetent managers.

In my 41 years, I have met, made acquaintance, worked with, liked and even loved.  My blog will contain stories and anecdotes from the many situations and individuals that I have encountered in my lifespan.  Unfortunately, parents, siblings, relatives, co-workers, friends, lovers past and present, and incompetent bosses have provided me with much material over the years.  But rest assured, real names will not be used, in order to protect the innocent and not-so-innocent.

This blog will concern itself with observations about life, people and other ironies.  Topics will include but are not limited to: corporate
america, parents, relationships, stress, depression, golf, incompetent bosses, travel, public transportation, modern communication, pets and memory loss.  I hope you are ready to laugh along with me.  Everything written here is completely true.

Lisa
